Privilege Pay

How it Works:

If you write a check or make recurring payments and sufficient funds are not available in your account, BankFirst will strive to pay the item(s).  Privilege Pay can help you avoid costly returned check fees from merchants.

What’s Covered:

  • Checks
  • ACH Transactions
  • Recurring debit card transactions

What it Costs:

If you have a transaction that causes an overdraft, you will be charged $36.00 per overdraft whether the item is paid or returned.

How to Get it:

Generally, accounts will automatically be enrolled at account opening. You can decline at opening or at any point using one of the methods listed under ‘Manage My Privilege Pay Options’ below.

Privilege Plus (Must have a debit card)

How it Works:

If you attempt a debit card transaction or an ATM withdrawal and sufficient funds are not available in your account, BankFirst will strive to authorize and pay the transaction.

What’s Covered:

  • One-Time non-recurring debit card transactions
  • ATM transactions

What it Costs:

If you have a transaction that causes an overdraft, you will be charged $36 per overdraft whether the item is paid or returned.

How to Get it:

This feature is available on your account only if you have a debit card and if you opt-in.  You can opt-in or opt-out at any time using one of the methods listed under ‘Ways to Opt-In or Opt-Out of Privilege Plus’.

Privilege Transfer

How it Works:

If you have a BankFirst checking, savings, or money market account, we can link your account(s) so that if you should overdraw your checking account and funds are available in your linked account(s), we will automatically transfer funds from one account to the other.

What’s Covered:

  • Checks
  • ACH transactions
  • Recurring debit card transactions
  • One-Time non-recurring debit card transactions
  • ATM transactions

What it Costs:

There is a charge of $10 per transfer.  However, if funds are not available in the linked account(s) to cover an overdraft, a $36 per overdraft fee will apply whether the item is paid or returned.  Savings and money market accounts are limited to 6 transactions per month, and a $2 debit item fee will be assessed on savings accounts, and a $15 debit item fee will be assessed on money market accounts for each transaction more than 6 per month.  The debit item fee is in addition to the $10 transfer fee.

Call or stop by your local branch to link your accounts.

Privilege Line of Credit (Subject to credit approval)

How it Works:

You may apply for a line of credit.  Once approved, if you have overdrawn your account and funds are available on your line of credit, we will automatically transfer funds to your checking account, up to your credit limit.

  • ACH transactions
  • Recurring debit card transactions
  • One-Time non-recurring debit card transactions
  • ATM transactions

What it Costs:

$10 advance fee with each advance, plus interest on the amount of the line in use.  However, if funds are not available in the line of credit to cover an overdraft, a $36 per overdraft fee will apply whether the item is paid or returned.

Call or stop by your local branch to apply for a Privilege Line of Credit.

Privilege Plus is an enhancement to Privilege Pay.  With Privilege Plus, you’ll be able to enjoy the confidence of knowing payments and purchases made using your BankFirst debit card will be covered.  You can opt-in or opt-out of Privilege Plus anytime by (1) calling FirstConnection at 866-726-2006 (Option 6 to ‘Change Overdraft Options’), (2) visit any BankFirst location (3) contact us directly at 662-726-6030, between the hours of 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM, Monday thru Friday, (4) by signing on to our website at www.bankfirstfs.com.  Please note this request could take up to 24 hours.

How can I manage my Privilege Pay Options?

You can enroll or decline Privilege Pay at any time by (1) visiting any BankFirst location (2) contact us directly at 662-726-6030, between the hours of 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM, Monday thru Friday (3) by signing on to our website at www.bankfirstfs.com.  Please note this request could take up to 24 hours.  Without Privilege Pay, overdrawn items may be returned unpaid and a $36 overdraft fee may be assessed.  You may also be charged additional fees by the merchant.
