Change is a good thing. Change can also automatically end up in your savings account if you enroll in our Every Penny Counts program. In this high-tech world of plastic cards, we don't often come home with change in our pocket to drop in a jar. BankFirst’s Every Penny Counts program is a modern version of a time-honored tradition and will help you fill up your "jar" without a single thought.

Round Up and Save

Automatically round up purchases and transfer to your BankFirst personal savings account.

Once registered for the service, any time you use your BankFirst Mastercard® Debit Card to make a point-of-sale (POS) purchase, not only will the sales amount be debited from your checking account, but the remaining cents on the transaction will be "rounded up" and debited from your checking account and credited to your savings account.

*Example is for illustrative purposes only. BankFirst's Every Penny Counts program requires a qualifying checking account with a BankFirst Mastercard® debit card. Actual savings will vary based on debit card use. The program is not available for Health Savings Accounts, Money Market, UTMA/Custodial, or Business/Organizational Checking. Each rounded amount will be between $0.01 and $0.99. Transfers will be completed in one lump sum at the end of each day. The bank reserves the right to cancel or modify the Every Penny Counts program at any time.

How to Register

A personal checking account, personal savings account, and a BankFirst Mastercard® Debit Card are required to participate in the service. To get started visit one of our branches or for more information about Every Penny Counts, simply fill out the form below and a knowledgeable BankFirst representative will contact you.


Program Details: Once you register for this program, Every Penny Counts savings is applied on all POS transactions made with any BankFirst Mastercard® Debit Card linked to the account; you cannot pick and choose which POS transactions to round up. The Every Penny Counts program does not apply to cash withdrawals made at ATMs. If a final card transaction is a whole dollar amount (such as $15.00), no rounding occurs and no transfer is made. Credits to the savings account are considered deposits/transfers in and are not interest payments. Any cardholder on a joint account can register or un-register for Every Penny Counts without consent of any other joint owner. Transfers will occur on the same day the transaction is posted to your checking account. Once enrolled, transfers will begin to post on the next business day. Purchases made on weekends or holidays will post on the next business day. If on a business day you do not have sufficient available funds in your checking account, or if any transaction has overdrawn your checking account, BankFirst will not round up purchases posted on that business day and will cancel the transfer for that day. If your Debit Card purchase is subsequently canceled or reversed, the Debit Card roundup transfer remains in the savings account. Every Penny Counts is not available for Health Savings Accounts, Money Market, UTMA/Custodial, or Business/Organizational Checking. Upon request, you can terminate this service at any time. Always ensure you have sufficient funds in your checking account to cover the POS sales amount and the round-up transfer debit amount.
